My own web site?
Unless you want your product to be a
faceless classified ad, you are going
to have to put a face on it. You will
need some sort of method for showing your
product to your customers.
You may want to show
a picture of an actual product,
or you might want to your visitor’s
first impression of your product to be
a sales
letter. With a sales letter you
can teach them why they need to buy your
product; this is a smart move. Either
way, a web site is the cheapest and most
effective way to get immediate exposure.
A web
site won’t sell its self.
You will definitely have to spend some
effort and drive traffic to your site,
but don’t worry; I’m showing
you more about this on other
pages.
Side note: If you would like to learn
a little bit about how web sites are made
you can find some wonderful information
at htmlgoodies.com.
When I wanted to learn to make my own
web site 8 years ago, this is where I
learned the basics.
Anyone can learn to make a basic 'web
page' but it can be tricky to design a
complete site with many pages...My best
advice is to learn slow and ask for help
whenever you need it.
