online traffic comes from links to your
site or someone typing your site’s
address into their browser. I’m going
to skip talking about getting people to
type in your address for obvious reasons,
so, let’s
talk about getting links back to your site.
Links or ‘clicks’ come in many
forms and fashions; if you are online then
you are clicking links. Getting links to
your site can be accomplished through trading
links with other web sites (reciprocal links),
paying for visitors (PPC), search engine
listings, forum signatures, email signatures,
newsletters, banner exchanges… WOW…
this list could go on and on.
Let me stop and focus in on links to your
site from other sites. If
you’ve got tons of links to your site
then you’ve got tons of traffic.
A few links back from a few huge sites
and a ton of links back from a ton of smaller
sites will drive visitors like you wouldn’t
believe; wait… even better…
tons of links back to your site from tons
of other sites, lets just say that.
You can get links back to your site from
link exchange programs or by simply exchanging
links with other web site owners. Contact
them on the phone or by email and talk about
trading links – UNLESS – Unless
they are your direct competition…
Why would you want to put a link
to your competition on your own site; generally,
I don’t do this and I don’t
recommend it.
